Who can use SUNY Optometry's Lending On the WEB?
  • Businesses, organizations and institutions not affiliated with SUNY Optometry may request loans of books and articles
  • Libraries and organizations WITHOUT access to networks such as OCLC Resource Sharing or Docline.
  • With whom are you a reciprocal partner?

  • AVSL- Association of Vision Science Librarians
  • We welcome any library willing to have a reciprocal agreement with us by complete and return the VXP/NYUSUN Reciprocal Agreement Form. Please fax it to 212-938-5696 or or e-mail it to us.
    Do you charge?
    The Harold Kohn Library is a reciprocal, not-for-profit library, we do not charge for interlibrary loan lending or photocopies. However, reciprocal charges will be assessed to those libraries charging VXP/NYUSUN for interlibrary loans or photocopies.

  • What are your Loan Periods & Policies?
  • Monographs, Media Material, Microfilm/fiche are lent for six weeks use
  • New books (published current year plus one) carry a 4-week due date with no renewals
  • Non-Circulating Items: Reserve, Reference, Rare Collections as well as complete Journal volumes are designated as non-circulating and will not be lent through interlibrary loan.
  • ALL MATERIALS MUST BE RETURNED VIA INSURED CARRIER
  • BORROWING LIBRARY WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR MISSING OR LOST MATERIALS

    Why don't I see all my older requests when I look at my request history?
    From time to time we purge older records from our system. Our policy is to keep requests online for several months in compliance with record keeping requirements of the copyright law.
    Why does my browser say that you're sending a cookie? What's in it?
